Due to the classic lines of the finished home, most visitors are surprised to find out it was built with bales. A built-in display cabinet at the front entry makes good use of space under the staircase.
The curved window frame is one of the possible ways to detail openings in these wide walls. Window seats and plant ledges grace windowsills throughout the home.
The back deck opens to a yard landscaped with drought-tolerant plants and a gazebo overlooking a constructed wetland.
Both the home and detached garage were built with a wood post and beam structure wrapped with 18" thick straw bales.
